Events & Projects

Incoming Erasmus students can look forward to many activities throughout the whole semester prepared by ESN MENDELU. 

We organise more than 40 events per year which can be divided into six main categories: trips, sport, party, social, cultural and since we are in the Czech Republic the last category is beer related.

Everybody knows that the Czech Republic has the best beer in the world. So you can look forward to special events which will allow you to get to know our fantastic beer culture. For example, beerpong, brewery excursion, pub quizzes, beer marathon and more.

Right at the beginning before the semester starts, we organize together with the International Relations Office Welcome Week. New exchange students can meet their classmates, get to know the university campus, the city of Brno and experience their first trips and parties. During the semester, there are many events which you can attend. ESN MENDELU members also organize various theme parties, some of them in cooperation as Brno United (together with students from Masaryk University and Brno University of Technology). 

Besides that, you can join many sports activities, country presentations where students get to know other nationalities and cultures and international market with tastes of many national cuisines. You can also participate and help out good causes during the Social Inclusion week and other social events.

	Parties There is going to be lots of parties, and also lots of exclusive parties. Usually, there is at least one big party in 2 weeks, and also there are some special ones! We promise that you are going to experience what you have never seen before! :D You can look forward to a TRAM PARTY (hell yeah, we rent a tram and ride through the night city, very fun, believe us), BOAT PARTY and also ERASMUS NIGHT which is a party for all Erasmus student in Brno.
	Trips During the semester, we organise many trips for Erasmus students. Usually, one trip for three days is abroad and the rest for one-two days are to some famous city or beautiful nature in the Czech Republic. Some of the places we visited lately: Prague, Krakow, Budapest, Vienna, Bohemian Switzerland, Palava vineyard. Trips are definitely something you don't want to miss out on so better not waste all your money in the first week!
	Social Students helping students is one of the building blocks of ESN. But of course, we want to help everyone. Through our social events, we're trying to allow you to make a positive impact. We will spend a day in the centre for kids with special needs. We will clean a forest or plant some trees. Also, you can help young Czech high school students to become more open-minded or help other students speak your language a bit through events as Erasmus in Schools and Café Lingea. This positive impact is the best impact you can leave here <3
	Sport Drinking, eating cheap pasta and pizza can make you feel a bit imbalanced, so it's essential to move your body (not only on the dance floor). Let's sport together! Each semester we organise football match between the three biggest universities in Brno, laser game match, day in jump park and jungle park, ice skating in winter, hiking trips and more.

	Culture Erasmus is the best way how to learn about many cultures, to grow our understanding and tolerance towards each other. We will introduce you to our culture, and you will also get to know each other's culture. For these purposes, there will be events as an International Market, Country Presentations, Tour de Brno and more.
